Kristine Lopez to Accelerate CTV Innovation for Smaato and Verve Group

NEW YORK, NY, JULY 25, 2023– Verve Group, an advertising technology ecosystem and a part of Media and Games Invest, announced that Kristine Lopez has been appointed as Vice President of CTV at Smaato (now part of Verve Group).

With nearly 13 years of relevant product experience, Lopez will be responsible for accelerating Verve Group’s CTV product suite and global go-to-market strategy. The future of CTV advertising technology requires deep technical understanding in order to innovate within the constraints of today’s limitations while educating and advocating for broader industry evolution. Lopez’s appointment at Verve Group will serve to uplevel CTV conversations and drive transformative value for the company’s brand and agency clients, demand partners, and publishing ecosystem.

“Kristine has a strong track record of pioneering media technologies, synthesizing technical challenges to understandable problems and bringing solutions to market. Her multi-dimensional experience brings fresh perspective to advertisers, publishers, and technology partners,” said Michael Brooks, Chief Operating Officer at Verve Group. “I’m highly confident that her leadership will drive Verve Group’s leading CTV business to even greater heights.”

Prior to joining Verve Group, Lopez served as Director of Product Management at HUMAN Security, where she led strategy and development of HUMAN’s Media product line. As the external face and voice and face of the Media Business unit product, she evangelized the growing brand across the world through interviews, panels and presentations.

Prior to HUMAN Security, Lopez was a part of Akamai Technologies’ internal incubator charged with identifying, prototyping and building ad tech products adjacent to Akamai’s core competencies of scale, resilience and security. During her tenure at Akamai, Lopez built a passion for and strong technical foundation of content delivery, streaming and edge compute and how these technologies can be deployed to revolutionize ad tech.

“I’ve long admired Smaato’s innovative approach in mobile and web, as well as its bold moves in the CTV space,” said Lopez. “I look forward to working with the entire Smaato and Verve Group team to accelerate Smaato’s CTV capabilities.”
