Mobile World Congress (MWC) is just around the corner, and Smaato is proud to be returning to Barcelona to attend this massive mobile event for the ninth year in a row!
As the world’s largest event for the mobile industry, Mobile World Congress is both the most exciting and challenging four days of the year for the event’s exhibitors, organizers, journalists and attendees. To ensure that you (and your mobile device) stay fully charged throughout the event, we have compiled a list of the most useful tips for surviving MWC.
Top Ten Tips for Surviving Mobile World Congress
1. ID Is Key
Always have your passport/ID with you. You will need to show it very often, and you won’t be able to get into MWC without it!
2. Stay Charged!
Don’t be that guy that runs out of battery at the show. Always have a charging cord and a portable (fully-charged) power bank with you.
3. Sensibility Over Style
Mobile World Congress doesn’t give out awards for “Best Dressed.” Comfortable shoes are a must, as you will end up walking (and running) many miles each day.
4. Prioritize Punctuality
Plan your time properly. MWC is huge, and everybody is late. Always!
5. Eat When You Can
Remember to eat! Have a huge breakfast at your hotel each morning, and pack some snacks to go. If your tummy starts rumbling at the show, then stop by the Smaato booth for some food and drinks!
6. Make an MWC First Aid Kit
Bandages for blisters. Pain relievers for headaches. Throat lozenges for your voice.
7. Snag Some Z’s
Get some sleep. Although it’s tempting to stay up late and party every night, you shouldn’t underestimate the strain on your body.
8. Protect Your Personal Property
Pay attention to your belongings, especially when out on the town.
9. Learn Some Spanish Phrases
- I would like to go to Fira Barcelona, North Entrance, Hall 8.
- Me gustaría ir a Fira Barcelona, Entrada Norte, Hall 8.
- What’s the WiFi password?
- ¿Cuál es la contraseña del internet?
- Where are the restrooms?
- ¿Donde se encuentran los baños?
10. Mobile World Congress Must-Haves
Even if you forget everything else on this list, always make sure that you have cash, business cards and the name of your hotel.
Oh, and don’t forget to plan your next year’s attendance the first Monday you’re back in the office! Hotel rooms are booked fast, and Mobile World Congress is sure to be even bigger and better next year. See you there!
