<p><a href="http://www.pubmatic.com" target="_blank">PubMatic</a>, which provides online publishers — including the majority of the <a href="http://www.comscore.com" target="_blank">comScore</a> Top 10 — with the technology and services to significantly increase revenue and better manage their advertising inventory, today unveiled a partnership with <a href="http://www.smaato.com">Smaato</a>, the world’s leading mobile ad optimization platform for publishers.</p>
<p>The partnership will provide the hundreds of premium publishers that work with PubMatic with similar ad network optimization for their mobile platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Android, Symbian, QT, Windows Phone and BlackBerry applications as well as mobile browser inventory.  </p>
<blockquote><p>“The mobile space is expanding rapidly and creating new revenue opportunities for premium publishers. We selected Smaato as a business partner because they are not only the biggest ad network optimizer for mobile, but they also have the best technology.  We have seen that having the best technology remains a critical part of being able to provide the biggest ad revenue improvement for our publishers”, stated <strong>Rajeev Goel, Co-Founder and CEO of PubMatic</strong>.</p></blockquote>
<p>The partnership, which has been in beta for several months, is now open to publishers that currently leverage PubMatic’s Premier platform.  Similar to how PubMatic can decide in real-time which ad network, Demand Side Platform (DSP), or Real-Time Bidding (RTB) partner is willing to pay the most for a publisher’s ad space, the partnership will enable PubMatic to determine which mobile ad network is willing to pay the most for publishers’ mobile ad space in real-time.</p>
<p>PubMatic publishers will be able to view their mobile performance and get reporting on mobile metrics through the PubMatic consolidated dashboard that they already use.   </p>

<p><strong>How did you get involved with mobile, and with Smaato?</strong></p>
<p>5 years ago, I co-founded Smaato because we realized that mobile phones are the future of computing. Unfortunately users couldn’t utilize the true potential of mobile devices because there was a serious lack of software especially designed for smartphones back then. But as former CTO of Microsoft Nathan Myhrvold says “Software is a Gas, it expands to fill its Container“. The technological capabilities of the container evolved dramatically and it was only a matter of time, until smart developers started to build amazing applications for a steadily growing international audience on mobile phones.</p>
<p>Smaato was one of the first companies that gained significant experiences and traction in delivering highly targeted advertisement within applications. Smaato helps publishers and developers to overcome the massive regional and technological fragmentation in serving ads to all major platforms (iPhone, Android, Java ME (incl. Blackberry), Symbian S60, Windows Phone) in more than 220 countries.</p>
<p>Today Smaato provides the leading full service solution for monetizing mobile properties, such as mobile websites and applications. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Smaato Inc., a global mobile ad optimizer and mobile advertising company, published recently a whitepaper on mobile advertising in South-East-Asia that caught my attention, as it reveals interesting results on the mobile Internet boom in the region. The privately held company, based in Silicon Valley, was founded in 2005 by an experienced international management team.</p>
<p>Asian e-Marketing had the chance to interview its Co-Founder and CMO, Harald Neidhardt, to find out more about Smaato’s advance and push for growth in the mobile advertising space in Asia. In order to tackle the complex Asian market, which is renowned for its own rules and requirements, the company established a Singapore presence already in 2009, after attending the MMA Forum there.</p>
<p><strong>Mobile advertising market in South-East-Asia</strong></p>
<p>According to Smaato’s report more than 400 million people will have access to the mobile Internet this year and the average mobile Internet user across Asia will generate 26.47 page impressions per day. Further, users in Asia will be producing over 15 billion page impressions on a daily basis (including Japan and China) and the total spending in the mobile advertising market will be about $1.5billion in 2010 in the region. These figures speak for themselves and prove that the mobile Internet is an exceptional opportunity for brands to communicate with their customers, so I don’t have to elaborate on this here in detail.</p>

<p>Smaato Inc., a leading mobile ad optimizer and mobile advertising company, announces the launch of the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award 2010. After the success in previous years, the award aims to find the coolest ad-enabled mobile content on the planet. This year, Smaato has divided the competition into seven categories: iPhone &#038; iPad, Android, Windows Phone, Samsung Bada, Symbian, RIM, mobile websites, branded games &#038; apps and best mobile campaign. Entry and participation is free and more information is provided at <a href="http://www.smaato.com/award">www.smaato.com/award</a>.</p>
<p>Smaato will invite the overall winner to participate at Mobile World Congress, the world’s premier mobile event, taking place in Barcelona, Spain in February 2011. At Mobile World Congress, the winning company will be given the chance to show its services in front of the world’s mobile community. If that wasn’t enough, Smaato will also make a number of introductions to VC&#8217;s at partner level. </p>
<p>Additional prizes are: a booth at M-Days in Munich, Germany in January 2011, a booth at M-Publishing in New York in November 2010, handsets, free tickets for Mobile World Congress and many more. </p>
